non-vtec to vtec
First post so dont be to harsh please.
Im looking on information on if and how i can get my 2006 a/t lx to become a vtec? And if possible what would i be looking for as far as costs, problems and hp gains? If any other suggestions on most bang for your buck on hp and torque please feel free to let loose.

I don't know if anyone has done a vtec swap on an 8th gen yet most people just swap in a k-series cause it is very difficult to do anything with the r18 cause of that weird exhaust an intake design

^^ it will sound really nice, thats about it. in mostly all hondas modifying an sohc with no power adders (s/c, turbo, nitrous) for more power is hopeless unless your building a fully built engine. even with a fully built sohc its difficult to make decent power. so if you are modifying it for more power then yes you are wasting your time. you will feel some slight gains. no more than 10 horsepower, and that is being VERY generous.
seems to me like your into drag racing by all the questions your asking. look into autocross. its ten times more fun than dragging. and it isnt really about who has the deepest pocket to spend on their engines. its about the most skilled driver. i used to be into drag, **** is boring now. lol

Haha I hear ya on that. I don't want to be fast . . . I just want to be faster than the Civic next to me. You could do an N/A build for that 20 hp . . . but its so expensive.
