Torque setting d16y8

What is the specific torque setting for the valve cover bolts. Also, where would be a good place to get a master repair manual?

Re: Torque setting d16y8

A Helms manual is the best one you can get, although expensive.

You can find them online also if you look...spoonhonda.com has a whole bunch of Helms manuals in PDF format. That should have your torque setting also.

Re: Torque setting d16y8

honestly, those are not very important bolts, you can wing it. tighten it until it feels snug enough so that the bolts dont come loose +1/2 turn. however do not "wing" prime bolts...

Re: Torque setting d16y8

Thanks so much for your help..I just made up my own setting...140 in. lbs. It worked ok. I'm downloading those Helms manuals that were on that website. Thanks again.

Re: Torque setting d16y8

If there's a gasket under the VC, it shouldnt be much since the gasket is the seal. On the D17 its a measly 7.2 lb-ft... thats barely more than hand tight. Snug them up and call it a day. More than likely they'll just stop turning... dont crank em any tighter than that.
