HELP! Engine seized!

Replaced my spark plugs and distributor cap/rotor today in my 97 Civic. To be able to get to the rotor, I pulled the entire distributor off the camshaft which allowed the rotor to turn freely to access the screw. I swapped out the new rotor. There's only one position where it will correctly line up with the camshaft again, so I turned the rotor against the camshaft until it popped into place. Reassembled everything.

When I first removed the distributor from the camshaft, a little oil came out of the camshaft opening (maybe a couple tablespoons worth). Is that normal? I added a little oil to compensate.

I also sprayed a buttload of B12 ChemTool T-body cleaner into the T-body.

I know that the B12 will make it hard to start... but the motor is basically seizing when I try to start it. It just locks solid into place and won't turn at all. I pumped the gas a little (assuming engine has some of that B12 cleaner in it)... it nearly turned over once, but keeps on seizing. I didn't want to keep doing it before consulting someone.

Can anyone help??!!

Re: HELP! Engine seized!

Oh and if I turn the key to the "on" position, my oil pressure warning light is staying on... others (ABS, etc..) turn off....

Re: HELP! Engine seized!

the oil pressure light will stay on until the motor is running and builds oil pressure. the only thing i can think of is you somehow managed to spray enough chemtool to hydrolock the motor. by the way, use an actual tb cleaner next time. anyway, pull the plugs back out and see if the motor will turn over without the plugs in. if it turns over, keep spinning it until it blows all the chemtool out and reinstall the plugs and see if it will start

Re: HELP! Engine seized!

Sweet! I let it sit for an hour -- went back out and, while it took forever to actually start, it's not locking up. Got it started and worked the cleaner through the system. Now resetting ECU... should be G2G.

THANKS!
