Re: Will this ECU work in a 02 ex?

i am pretty sure 01-03 uses the same ecu, there may be minor updates in the firmware so its better to get a newer or same year as what you have. but it should work, so long as they are both MT. as for getting it out, it should slide out? are there any screws or something holding it? if you still cant get it by tonight ill see how the service book says to replace it when i get home.

Re: Will this ECU work in a 02 ex?

that would be great! there is only one screw holding it in and it comes off easily and has plenty of room to the right and left but the bottom of the dash and several wires are located right in front of it preventing it from coming out. if you would, show how the service manual takes it out.
thanks!

Re: Will this ECU work in a 02 ex?

well the hoda tech was no help.
he said "um ughh.. it shouulldd work"

Q: is it ok to try and start the car without reflashing the computer? the Tech said i might not need a reflash but i have been told by a few members that i will need to.

Re: Will this ECU work in a 02 ex?

if you swap a new ecu, your old key will not start the car. immobilizer will disable ignition/fuel. you can try, but it wont start. you need to have the dealer fix that so the new ecu recognizes the old code from the key.
