My speedometer broke & I can't figure out what's up. Got new Speed Sensor & bought a used gauge cluster... what else can it be?

Are all your other instruments on the cluster working? If not check for a blown fuse.

ARRRRGH! Ran a new wire & spliced it into the sensor & then at the back of the speedo & still nothing. Brand new sensor from auto zone & another used gauge cluster (tried both original & used one) still not working.... fuses are good.

Hmm.. that's weird.. you've essentially replaced anything in line that may have been faulty and its still not working? maybe the connection to the fuse box is faulty.. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you..

backprobe the pins when the car is on, see if its getting voltage.

backprobing is just sticking a paperclip in the back of the connector with a paperclip
