Changing out the tail light cover..help.
Changing out the tail light cover..help.
I bought those LED oem style tails and i dont really like the cover on the tails because theyre red then clear then red. I want to put my stock 04 cover over the LED tails so it will look cleaner. Would the process of taking the covers on the tails the same as taking the front headlamps apart by putting them in the oven and stuff? Thanks.
Re: Changing out the tail light cover..help.
You're out of luck. The oem tail cover is glued together, well at least thats how it is on 01-03 tails and thats probably same with the later years as well. I tried taking apart a broken taillamp I had from an 01 using the oven method and it cracked.

If you have the tails I'm thinking of then you might try tinting the clear part. A member on this site had a set like you're describing and he did that and they turned out great.

i dont know how this guy did it, i tried over and over to get the lense off and chipped a piece and stopped right there. it just seems like the glue wont melt but i'm afraid to turn up the heat
