OBD1 ecu relearn proceedure?

After disconnecting the battery in an OBD1 system, is there anything you have to do to "relearn" the ecu? I just replaced the alternator in my stone-stock 92 LX, and had some driveablilty issues after restarting. It always has lost power about 30-45 seconds after you start driving when cold. Usually only happens once or twice. Engine never dies, just seems to go to an idle at light throttle, but if you step on it a little more, it jumps. After reconnecting the battery, the problem was worse, did it about 5-6 times while driving down the street.

Thanks for any help
