A tach comes factory with your model, regardless of it is a Canadian Si or American. If you are wanting a after market one, You would need to find and tap into your tach wire under the dash, a ground and a constant source of power.

Oh so your going rice! there are only 2 reasons to get a new tach.
1) you dont have one stock
2) you have an engine that revs faster or higher than your stock *like me*

any other reason = RICE!

there is a blue wire with a cap on it by your battery under the hood tap into that for the tach signal. just ignore all the *******s that do nothing but flame all day cuz there girlfriends wont put out lol fyi i got a reason for my tach it houses an oil pressure, oil temp. and water temp gauge cluster plus some of us like to have a SHIFT LIGHT. dont flame just cuz u dont see a reason for something unless its seriously retarded.

i had a shiftlight with out a tach before. whats your point? and your right i dont have a girlfriend that will put out.. cause i dont have one they cost to much..
You got one like this huh

Thats more rice than just a tach! Now you have duplicated water temp as well!!

And yes adding a second tach is retarded, i see it everywhere. I think it is retarded! Especially when a 2000 Si comes with a Good enough Tach.

A Auto Meter tach is way more accurate than a Civic stocker. But I don't think you need it unless you have alot of power or road, drag race regularly.
