u know what i think, since no one ever tried all these swaps yet for now its not possible. of course this is just a hypothesis. but if u have a lot of money to spare and want to make ur car unique or some type of hybrid go find a willing mechanic to build what u want. with money u can make ur car fly lol. hand NASA 15 billion dollars to build u a prototype USS Civic with ludicrous (movie: spaceballs) speed transmission and F12345 turbine from a storm speeder (star wars) engine with a deathstar (star wars) 6062.3 MOHC engine (million overhead cam) with X-TEC (only exists if ur trippin on ecstasy lol) im joking around man but u get the point. so far nobody has been able to do the b16...bascially everything with the new civic is different. Only possible thing is that you can get the rsx engine in there...the engine mount points are the same, unlike the b16, 18, and h22. there have been posts about this for the last year, so engine swap woulda been the best thing to look for.

Good luck with your findings.

It's not that nobody has been able to get it in there...the thing is, nobody has tried yet. With custom mounts, the B16 could be very possible (only seems logical to me that a 1.6L engine is smaller than the 2.0L of the RSX.)

What it gets down to is not worth it. Way too much money it wouldn't be funny, different computer, different flywheel, clutch pedal, not to mention the little things like the gauge cluster and console.

if i cant swap in a dohc b/c of size and the sohc fits...there are many after market kits for the 99 sohc motors including turbos and superchargers.

Not positive on my anwser...

the swap is possible, very possible, has been done on many cars before. not on a 2k1 yet, but its still possible on one. take it to ur local shop and ask them how much it would cost. the range people said the shops made them pay has been pretty cheap, to very expensive so cant say myself how much it would be. one thing though, the tranny has to be tuned to ur engine and all other sorts of fun stuff, so many parts are needed. i would suggest picking up a rsx engine ( they will usually come with the tranny ) and have a shop install that with a manual tranny ( i beleive it can be done ) and then u can be fast and manual.

ok i dont know what the hell you are talking about. go to the dealer and buy one and have it put on, the part has to be avaliable because what if someone blows their tranny? they just have to go without one till they make them?? i dont think so! of course its possible. just head to the dealer and say you want a 2001 honda civic ex 5 speed and see what they say

if you want the older motor just trade in your 2k1 for a 6th gen manual...you will save yourself a lot of money..doing a K20 swap will run you a lot of money so I hope your rich..look at HTown I think hes paid 6 grand for his K20A2, still needs stuff for it AND needs to drive to Cali for someone to look at it to tell him he MIGHT not even be able to put it in anyways if youre really serious the thread is stickied in GR go look there
