Why R Civics Weak?
Hey everyone, I have an injen SRI and an OBX B3 Bomb catback exhaust. I have been told that having those will only really get me 10 hp total or less. Is that really true? If so then why are the new civics so hard to juice more HP out of. If I recall correctly, the older 99' civics and down you can get around 15 HP with just an intake!

IMO, it is because the stock parts are already fairly decent, at least on the ex. I think the other models would greatly benefit from a cat-back exhaust as part of the ex's extra power comes from a nicer exhaust system.
15 horses from an intake? ?
15 hp from an intake and an exhaust, yeah, and if you put rims on a 2000 you got another 20 hp, header, good for at least 25 hp, and oh yeah, neuspeed sticker at least 5 hp, stop looking at adds, if you got 2-4 hp from an intake and an exhaust, you did good, 2000 or 2001......

I'll second that. Stop complaining. If you wanted a race car, you should've done some research. THIS IS NOT A RACE CAR.

I completely agree! Stop your whining and be happy with what you've got. if your not trade the car to one that does have power. I have all the power I need...not all the power I want, but all the power I need for my everyday needs...all i need to do is skoot around town and have the occasional drive up to my dad's house 100 miles away.
If I wanna race, I can hold my own. truthfully if I really wanter 200+ horses I would gotten myself a found on road dead... Now that fact that I wont get too many hp gains out of it wont stop me from putting mods on it, kuz frankly I'd like to have a little of my own touch to it.

<< i dunt wan a car thats good on gas and safe for the environ
i would perfer a nasty Gas hog that killz tree's so i can go FASTER
>>Then you shouldn;t have bought a Civic. Sick and tired of people who went out and bought a Civic just because they think that they're fast. A civic can be made into a fast car with thousands of dollars, but for that much, why not just have bought something a little faster to begin with.
People keep talking about power and if you want power you should have bought a WRX or RSX. Yeah they only cost $13,000 to $16,000 cdn more. My car cost me $800 bucks a month to drive simply I couldn't afford anything more so right now this will due. People never thought a Honda could go in the 9's and they can. Are cars need some time and a more mature aftermarket that doesn't stick a filter on the end of tube and sell it for $250 bucks. IMO from what I've seen a lot of people are more concerned about looks anyways. You want power port/polish your head, extrude hone your intake manifold, extrude hone your exhaust manifold, cam shaft reground, flywheel lightened etc. All the money that's spent on rims, stereo, springs and strut bars you could make your car a lot faster. Don't get me wrong I like style an stereos as well but I'm definitly not gonna b*itch about NO power when it is there it just takes some dedication to find.
