Backseat
Backseat
Hey guys I looked all over for a DIY on how to remove the backseat in a Coupe. I have a 2001, I just need to get the backseat out so I can get a piece of plywood behind the fabric so I can mount an AMP to it. And I was told that the only way to unzipper it was to remove it.
I took a look behind the fabric today and found out Im gunna have to drill the holes right into the metal. Anything I should know before I do this? I dont wanna kill myself. Ive got a cordless drill and lots of drill bits but are there special drill bits for metal?
Re: Backseat
I know it's late, but this is for anyone who finds this thread on a search like I just did. You can get wood behind there without removing the seat, I did it on both sides. Fold down your rear seats and unhook the fabric from itself on the bottom part of the rear. Then unzip both sides and voila. Insert wood, zipper up again. You probably won't be able to get the fabric hooked back together but who cares.
Re: Backseat
^^^^ exactly their is no need in removing the backseat. just follow dex's advice, so much easier. make the wood a little smaller though so that the fabric can zip back up.
