Control arm bushings
So, I had my car in for the 60k check up about 1,000 miles ago. The guy said that the squeeking that I was hearing was coming from the rear lower control arm bushings. Now... I located a store with some polyurathane bushings online, and I'm wondering how to change them out. Can I do this myself with the average toolset, or do I have to go back to the mechanic? From what I've gathered searching here, nobody knows- or rather, nobody has said. SO... here is your chance to go down in 7th gen fame and share your knowledge on how to replace them.
What i'm worried about is if i get the old ones out, and my whole suspension falls apart because i cant get the new ones in and then i wouldnt even be able to drive out to the mechanic or get it fixed!
So, any help would be apprechiated, and pictures/diagrams would also help a lot. Thanks!

allright so...
The pictures would have helped, but in that thread, I found the service bulletin.
Damn that looks like a b*tch to do myself... I dont exactly happen to have a volcano, and the service bulletin didnt say anything about a blow torch.
Has anybody done this themselves, or is this one of thoes thing thats better left to the greese suits w/ the hourly rates?
Much thanks bobsagator

You can do the two on the hub yourself easy. I can tell you what stuff you need from Home Depot.
The third one, under the jack point is a bitch.
Do you know what bushing(s) it is? If you are going to do one side, then do the other. You may not have to replace that bitchy one but I dunno. The TSB is only replacing the two on the hub, not the bitchy one.
If you want the pics, I can send them to you.

Civicman1988, Here is the link that I will use, select off to the side in "the garage" what year and model you have to show you what will fit:

robbclark1, when I had it in, the guy said they were the rear lower control arm bushings. He said they were cracked, well slightly cracked and werent a MUST change, but I should do them soon. Just so happened I went out and pushed my car on some back roads (to test intake) and I dont think that helped them at all... when i close my door there is a slight squeek. So, everytime I get out they complain to get fixed. Now, I'm not quite sure what rear contol arm busihings are... I know they are cracked rubber at the moment, and they will be new polyurathane, but which ones I'm not sure. If you know what the rear lower control arm bushings are, then you might be able to help, are they the ones that are a b*tch to replace or no?

I doubt the bitchy one needs to be replaced because that one is diesel. There are three of them - two in the TSB, and a third that is closer to the front of the car.

See where #27 is? That is near the bitchy bushing - it has that two prong thingy stick out of it that attaches to the car. You can't even buy it separate from the arm.
#12 & #13 are the other bushings.
