differences in 01-03 engine and 04-05

i have a 2005 honda civic ex, auto. and i was wondering what the difference is between that and the 01-03 ex's. because there seems to be a lot more engine upgrade parts for the 01-03's then for the 04-05. so what are the differences, cause im wondering if i can fit parts from 01-03 into mine. thanks for any help

there are basically no differences. the reason you arent finding any 04-05 parts is that its still brand new in the market while they already have 01-03 for a while now. yes u can fit 01-03 parts to your car such as intakes, exhaust, and etc. only thing that you would really need to look out for is trim difference for the exhaust and tranny type for intakes.

this true with the exception of trim level...

dx and lx parts are interchangeable

the EX stands alone.. however if you have a dx/lx and want to use EX headers for example. you need the the rest of the exhaust sytem too.. meaning if you get EX headers you also need the EX full exhaust

^ correctamundo! it shouldnt really matter but just putting it out there is the engine type where there are ones with vtec and ones without such as the dx doesnt and the ex does. but like i said it shouldnt matter when it comes to intake, exhaust, and other simple add-ons.

but the things he said are important too, cause some people can make the mistake of buying the wrong cf hood or bumpers
