Fuel injection fluid every 15k miles?

hey everyone I'm wondering if its highly recommended to put fuel injection fluid on my 2k1 civic. My mileage right now is at 18k. What other maintenance requirements(or recommendations) should I do besides oil change? Thanks for the advice

If you are talking about fuel injector cleaner, I usually run some through every other service (7K miles). Maybe overkill, but it doesn't have any adverse effects. I always use Seafoam, which IMO is the only way to go. Check out Carquest - it comes in a metal can. Hope this helps.

Sorry I don't really have time for knowing any engine tune ups. They charged me 50bucks and they were doing something weird when putting the fuel injector fluid. They removed the hose while the engine is running and they try to put the injector fluid little by little. Is this the right way to do it and does it require skills? It looks like I can do it myself... Whats up with that?? Did i get ripped off??

I use Chevron, which has Techron. So, it helps clean the fuel injection, or at least that's what it's supposed to do.

yah i think thats it@drbombay. you remove the hose from the pump while the engine is running. Then you gradually put the injector fluid so it gets sucked by the engine.

i think those cleaners are a lot better than the add to your gas type and actually worth the money. i almost bought the kit to diy. it's not a bad idea to do it, you have to decide how often. I might go 20-25k not every 15k. $50 sounds about right. a can of cleaner is $10, i think the kit is around $100

TRY OUT NOZ OCTANE BOOSTER THE ONE IN A BLACK BOTTLE, WITH 89 GRADE FUEL.IT CLEANS YOUR INJECTORS AND GIVES YOU A LITTTLE BOOST IN OCTANE. JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. AT FIRST IT SCARED ME CAUSE IT DIDNT DO NOTHING BUT ABOUT AFTER 15-25 MILES LATER I WAS GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND FELT A HARD JERK AND MY RPM WENT UP BY 1000 RPM AND I STARTED BLOWING OUT ALOT OF WHITE SMOKE, BUT ABOUT 5 MILES LATER IT WENT AWAY, IT FELT DIFFERENT BUT NOT IN A BAD WAY.
