Electronic Rust protection

Not sure if this is the right forum but does anyone know if this is worth my money? It's on sale for $200 and it's called Counteract Electronic Rust Protection (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortmen...romSearch=true)
It supposedly works by sending a current through the car, thereby stopping rust. It's only on sale until Friday so any experiences would help. I know that Nissan sells something like this with new cars. Gimmick or not?

i think it might work, if this current somehow stops rust which is a chemical process by blocking oxidation reaction. but im not sure what a current running through the car would do to electronics. it seems too iffy and there needs to be more info. that link doesnt work either.

vibrations? hmm well umm i dont think our cars paint rust that easily that we need that, considering we are mostly 01 and up and still kinda fresh paint.

i dont understand how you would send current through the body without shorting the entire electrical system out..

Its only 1 volt of current that goes through the vehicle.

There has been some discussion in a local forum that I regularly go to and some say it works, but its too soon to tell if it works or not since the time it has been out is so little. But some dealers does offer this product on their cars, including Honda.

I have a 2000 Accord EXV6. It was purchased with an electronic anti rust system (ML-10). The car has been driven about 100000km over the course of the last six years in winter and summer. There is no visible rust on the car. This may be a result of the ML-10 or it may just be that Honda did a good job on the body work. Still kinda too soon to tell if it works or not.

Its possible I guess that this could work, but the only way you could tell is have it on a car for like 20 years. That or strip your car down to bare metal and run it around for a month like that. LOL

Hey devani I like your sig man!
