Diy Exhaust Questions

Hey I am tuning my 01 civic lx on a budget. I want to do some exhaust. I just care about the sound and that it has a huge *** tip. A catback is out of the question. so here are my ideas: 1. Cheap axel back exhaust. First my questions are: are there cheap exhaust kits like apc or dnx that will fit my stock header and sound good? 2. New Muffler. My question about this is what size inlet does my civic have? and if i buy a new muffler do i need any other parts? and how will the sound be. I am just looking for that ricey sound.

Thanks
Jamie

why you would ever want a ricey sound i will never know however i will still try to answer your questions. im glad your not concerned about power because you will not gain much. Just a muffler will not change the sound much. I would recomend a decent muffler and just get a shop to do 2.25" custom piping. I dont know if anyone has the dnx axelback but it looks ok.

I've got 2.25 custom catback with a dnx muffler, I noticed a bit of a difference in power.. not much though, compared to the spaghetti string exhaust they ripped out. That thing was frickin tiny, must have been like 1.5" or maybe smaller.

I disagree a aftermarket muffler/exaust/backbox can make **** loads of noise. i.e changing the sound

ok just in case you guys were wondering i just wanted a cool sounding exhaust so last night i bought an apc intimidator muffler with a 2.25" inlet and a 4" slant tip at an unbelieveable price. With some small modification from an exhaust shop will this work with my existing exhaust pipe? Obviously i dont want a raspy fartcannon but i want a cool sounding one and a tip for show.
