Rep Power: 282 Since we were all new once, and all of us have little quirks:
Go to your glove compartment
Take out the factory owner's manual
Open it to page 65
Follow the directions
Past that, some people have a rather nasty habit of flaming new comers who ask the same questions over and over without doing a search. This forum is full of useful information, but sometimes you have to search for it. Thankfully, the makers of this site have done an awesome job, so you just have to use thier tools to look. Good luck.

Maintenance Reqired Indicator
This indicator reminds you that it is time to take your car in for scheduled maintenance.
For the first 8,000 miles (12,800km) after the Maintenance Required Indicator is reset, it will come on for two seconds when you turn the ignition switch ON.
Between 8,000 miles and 10,000 miles (16,000km) this indicator will light for two seconds when you first turn the ignition switch ON, and then flash for ten seconds.
If you exceed 10,000 miles without having the scheduled maintenance performed, this indicator will remain on as a constant reminder.
Your dealer will reset this indicator after the scheduled maintenance. If this maintenance is done by someon other than the dealer, reset the indicator as follows:
1. Turn off the engine
2. Press and hold the select/reset button in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Hold the button until the indicator resets (approx ten seconds).

I dont think you would see it at 16,000 because I think that is just for the Canadain models, in KM's. For your US models I think its every 10,000 miles. Up here its every 8,000 km's. I could be wrong on this but I think this is how it is.

Rep Power: 0 I was about to post a question related to this when i saw this thread. So, does this light not mean that there is anything wrong then? I got my oil changed at somewhere other than the dealer. Mine just started blinking tonight, when i passed 8,000 miles. So, all i need to do is reset the light, there's nothing wrong with the car?

if you get your oil changed at honda dealer, then they already reset it for you so you don't have to see it...
