8th gen engine swap?
This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know if it's possible to put the 197 hp 8th gen Si engine in an 01 LX Sedan? That would be a sweet sleeper

That engine is a k-series engine. The only problem you would have to overcome is the drive by wire system. Everything else has been done before.

As far as I understand the fly by wire still uses a cable, so not really a big deal......at least he didn't ask if you can swap the r18.....ibtl

fly by wire means digtal controls as opposed to mechanical....like old planes (and new ones) use cables and lever, and new planes and military jets use servos and digital imput.

it means it dosen't have a throttle cable, it has a sensor that tells the throttle body to open and close when you push down/lift on the gas.
