Which wire for gauges?
Ok, i searched but never got a clear answer. I want to hook up my gauges tomorrow and I understand everythign except there is a black wire and a red wire coming from a little black box. The black is ground so i just attach to something metal. Where do i connect the red wire? I heard somethign about a red and black wire in the wirign harness for the originial gauges? Is this right? How do I connect it? Do i just strip the plastic and wrap them together then tape or is there a better way? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I hooked mine up to the solid red and black wire on the harness... the only thing that sucks is lately, the gauges like shut off sometimes and then don't come back on for a while.. it really sucks, they might not be getting enough power through the harness, I might have to wire them somewhere else... anyone else have this same problem???
I hooked the red wire to the red w/ black stripe. Just tie into it with a quick connect. Its the rd/blk wire on the gauges on the tach side.Ihooked the ground to the bottom left screw onthe gauge cluster. The only problem Ive had is w/ the dimmer, I dim down the gauges ,shut off the lights, and when I turn the lights back on I have to turn the dimmer way up to get them on again.
Good luck
