EGR valve
<< does anybody know where the EGR valve is located in a 2001 civc ex?

that is only on the hx models as far as i know!!!
An EGR valve stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation and it sends some of the exhaust gas back into the cylinders to reduce combustion tempertures. Lowering the combustion temperture reduces the amount of nitrous oxides that are sent out through your tailpipe.
For the people who have them the EGR valve is usually located on the intake manifold. You shouldn't have to worry about replacing it for awhile. If your curious though just pull it out (never came across one that was threaded) and shake. If you here a rattle it's all good.
