Mylar..Info
I'm thinking about a project which would require the use of mylar which I think is the same stuff D used around his subs in the trunk. Is mylar a generic term for plastic? Does anyone know if you can get the same stuff as in D trunk but in a plyable form or can you heat this stuff up to form shaps or that you could form around a plug/mold?
Thanks for your help

I'm Not too sure about Mylar.. might wanna run a search on this on google Use the search words "Mylar DIY" you might have some luck there... Mostly all I do where I work is Make enclosures and install amps I'm a part timer because I work 66 hours a week for a sports gambling company....But off the top of my head Mylar is a synthetic plastic..not petroleum based..is heat formable.. but like all plastics it thins out and warps at the bends.. you're better off just using Plexi or Lexan for the subs, and Fiberglass for everything else..

Fiberglass rules for enclosures, especialy if you are gonna have a lot of curves. Fiberglass is strongest at the curves. If you have a lot of flat areas you can reinforce it with MDF board.
