turbo problem help asap

OK before my BOV was going off perfectly not its rarly going off. I think there is a leak in the pipings somewhere but i cant find anything. I looked at all the cuffs and pipings and no holes loose gaps nothing at all. Also that my exhaust wasnt on at that time and i just got it installed, ever since the installation my BOV hasnt been going off as hard. Do you think my exhaust added restriction and made it harder for my turbo to spool up therefore causeing my BOV to go off cuz of the low boost? Help

1. Whats the boost gauge say?
2. What kind of BOV is it?
3. Have you checked the BOV outlet for any crud that may be jamming it
4. Is the BOV adjustable, if so, have you tried adjusting it?
5. Is it hooked up to a reliable vaccum source?

Boost says vaccum 20 at 3k RPM
TSI bov so i guess a generic type
nothing jamming the BOV
I never adjusted the BOV yet
i think its hook up to a relable vaccum source (take a look at my thread in member rides shoes the BOV)

Well if you're reading vaccum you won't get any blowoff because there's no pressure to relieve. If the gauge never reads boost, then you're going to need to keep looking for a boost leak. Where is everything tapped from? The brake master vac?

yea. The thing is it was going off crazy when i was running without an exhaust and boost was kicking in hard at 3.5k but after i got the exhaust on its changed you think that could cause the psi to be harder to build up? I hear the BOV but i have to rev it high for it to really go off

well exhaust is a restriction... so yes, it makes it harder to build boost because it fights the turbine if there's backpressure, but any deciently sized exhaust shouldn't cause a major jam up... a stock cat on the otherhand.... totally different story. Even then... my car was still spooled up well before 3K.
If you have no boost but you can hear it spooling, start looking on the cold side for problems. I don't think your exhaust is completely preventing boost.
Check the wastegate also. Make sure its closed when it should be and that the actuator is properly connected.
