civic ECU question

Does anyone know if the ECU in a 04 civic captures or logs any data like a flight recorder in a plane?

not that i've ever seen. the only thing that will be stored are engine codes. Yes i believe there is one for over-rev past redline, so the dealer can piece together stuff that way. but there is nothing that actually records how you drive like speed, rpm , etc

AlienX will become famous soon enough
the only thing that does record that information is the SRS computer, and this is only in the event of an accident. It will record multiple parameters including brake activation, rpm, speed, g-force force from the accelerometer*(sp), **** like that to find out why your leg is 10 feet away from the car :P

Thanks for the info on the SRS computer. Can any Honda dealer pull that information out of the SRS computer?

yes, an accident did occur and the car is totaled. So i guess i just need to pull the SRS computer out and take it to Honda for them to read it. Would you happen to know where the SRS computer is located??
Thanks

i think only law enforcement would be able to read that info and it would prob be stored in the accelerometer(s) not the SRS it self..
and if I was to guess the location of the SRS comp, it would prob be near the ECU (behind the glove) but I might be wrong.
