Replacing Alterntor Mount....can't wait, NOT!

some of you may have read prior to this but somehow (user error) my alternator upper mount bolt came loose and over time, it became stripped . well, it turns out the thread in the alternator harness is stripped as well . anywho, i went by the salvage yard today and picked up a used one from an 03. when the guy was taking it apart, we realized you have to take off the plastic cover to the timing belt b/c there is a lip to the harness that sits just underneath it. he unscrewed all the screws and the damn thing still did not come off, he ended up breaking it off. anyone know how to remove the plastic cover safely w/o damaging it? or has anyone replaced theirs?? thanks for the help!
