Do your CD's Skip ??
I just installed a Kenwood head unit over the weekend, and I used
one of those brackets from Best Buy that fits in the center that
holds the CD Player, and I didn't notice any way to bolt that to the car
when I put the center trim peice back in....now that fugger skips all the time....
The stock bracket could be bolted to the car, but this one doesn't.....does anyone
else have this problem with the aftermarket head unit holders ??

dude I believe your problem is not the installation but the CD player itself. If you have a good CD player and you just lay it on your passenger seat, it won't skip! Try another CD player.... go for ALPINE!! Best sound quality!!! ye-yur!!!

It''s a good deck.....it's a Kenwood v6017....I think it may either be
the bracket I used or that I have springs on my car as well...but it
sucks.....my stock one never skiped. I could ram a curb and the stock
one wouldn't skip at all, now it skips whenever I hit a little bump in the road...
WTF ?? And has anyone else used one of those brackets...is there a way to
bolt it down like the stock bracket did ??

you can take the brackets off the stock unit and screw them back in without the head unit and it allows for it to be bolted back to the car. the aftermarket brackets sold at a best buy are designed to allow the stock brackets be put back in while everything fitting in correctly, hope this helps!

I have Goldline Springs....and about a 1.5" drop on stock struts for now......that may
be it that's causing it, the skipping just seems a little extreme......and

You said the bracket can connect to the stock bracket or to the car where the stock bracket was....
I didn't see anything that held it in except some clips.....good example, you know how you have to take the center console
apart to get to those two screws under the center trim peice........I don't have to do that now, I can just pop that center peice right out, nothing is holding it there except the clips around the edge.....

I replaced my factory deck and replaced it with my alpine CD player and at first I thought I would need an after-market bracket or something but I fit right in. Did you try it without any bracket first? But like you said, it's a good deck.... my point with that passenger seat-theory was that it doesn't matter where you put it or how you install it, as long as it's bolted in. It's either the CD player or your springs/shocks. Either way, good luck dude... I hope you get it to work...

No, I didn;t try it without the bracket because it looked like it wouldn't fit good..the stock radio is a has that diagonal edge on one side,
abd the bracket I got fills that peice in, so i fugred I would need it....I will try without it though and see what happens....thanks for the votew of confidence !!

About that diagonal piece.... it will look funny at first because is seems awkward without anything there but after a while you'll get used to it. That indentation actually don't look too bad once you get used to it. And byt the way, the deck fit perfect without any add ons so try it out.
