Power steering Delete

Has anyone ever tried to remove the PS from their ride? I hate it cause it's way too light at high speed, makes the car unstable, plus I'd like to keep the power it uses...Lemme know.

Yeah, but I don't want non-functional power steering, that's a lot harder to steer than if it never had the PS mechanicalls at all. I want to remove it completely if possible, as if it came from the factory with no PS.

You think it feels unstable at high speeds, wait until you have to make a quick turn at high speed with no power steering.

The problem isn't your powersteering but most likely your suspention is making it feel that way. Better struts and springs and tires would greatly improve the drivablity at high speeds. Plus the power it take to run the power steering isn't enough to even notice a difference. Also, most race cars have power steering.

The thing is that cars that came from the factory with no power steering were geared for no power assist. Driving at low speeds and parking will be a bitch without power steering. Instaed of removing it, fix the problem.

I have had a z car without ps, could turn it with one hand. also my sister had a 95 vic without ps...could turn it easy also. so guys its not that hard to turn without ps.

There's not a whole lot of people that would agree with you, but that's just my opinion.

I'm not saying you can't drive a car without it, but it's a lot harder, and if you have some arm strength it makes it easier. But to remove at fuctional power steering system, just because the car feels "light" at high speeds isn't a really good idea.

the only harder place driving with no PS is parking lots~ IMO. With no PS you seem to be able to feel your car more.

Exactly. You are more in touch with the road in a car with no PS. I had an 87 Accord w/ no PS and loved it. But could we please get back on topic...does anyone know how to remove PS completely?
