blew a fuse w/leds
i hope no one gets mad with this but i was wondering where to hook the windshield leds up to cuz when i hooked it up to the headlights i blew a fuse. It also didnt work when i tried hooking it up to the battery
Or try tapping off the parking lights... just make sure to not cross your leads, and you connect the + wire to the correct wire on the LED. Because w/ LEDs, there is a right and wrong way.
(LED = Light Emiting Diode, and diodes only allow current to pass in a single direction)

Yeah, i'm from louisville, ky........I tried tappin into the headlights but nothing happened. I guess I'm just dumb because i tried 2 different wires and they accidently touched and blew the fuse. If i tap it into the fuse box what fuse would it go to?
i took an inline fuse off an old cb radio my buddy had and tied the leds to that and then crimped on one of those little ring things that come with little electric kits and put it on the battery post

you said the answer yourself...it blew coz the wires touch...just replace the fuse...tap it off the parking light instead since you don't wanna damage any wire going to the headlights...
it is true that an LED is a diode...the thing with led washers is they have a resistor and transistor already built in...that is why you have three wires...red goes +12v ... black goes to ground and the white can just be connected to the black or grounded unless you connect it to the turn signals but thats totally up to you...
I spliced the 2 positive wires from the LED's to a single 12 guage wire and ran the 12 gauge wire through the firewall on the passenger side. I ran it along side my amplifier power cable. I hooked the 12 guage wire to one post of a radio shack switch and cut another piece of 12 gauge wire and spliced that to the parking light wire in the center console. It is the red and yellow wire (mostly red, with a small yellow stripe). As for the ground, I spliced the 2 negative wires together and ran the longer negative wire to the negative battery terminal. I basically followed the DIY on this site but did my own thing. It works perfectly! When I see a cop, just hit the switch. They're white LED's anyway so cops won't really have a problem with them. I haven't been pulled over yet. (knock on wood)

Just splice the wires plug them into the sockets with the turn signal bulbs and connect your ground and your done. I got the new chameleon dilates that change colors. I hooked them up in 15 mins tops.
