interior trim DIY Folly

ok this is just so no one else does what i did, friday i got off work and i stoped at walmart i saw white primer and i bought it so i could do my interior trim in the morning, pep boys was closed til then so i got home and primed all the pieces with the KRYLON white primer, i woke up saturday morning and went to pep boys got the silver paint. so heres the folly, the krylon primer and the plasti kote paint dont bond too well it shoots right off the primer leaving a nasty looking trim piece, over all i had to carefuly sand everything down and do it again using plastikote primer, so just a heads up to anyone planning on doing this DIY sometime in the future.

You don't need to use primer. You can just clean the surface and spray 3 light layers of paint followed by 2-3 layers of clear coat.

The paint will stick..trust me.

Sanding is not required if you don't use primer.

yeah thats fine... sanding is done to anything to allow the primer particles to adhere better to the surface, by creating little grooves, and microscopic scratches. but if you sand, make sure you use some primer. primer wil make the surface very even and will fill in all the uneveness. then paint will stick real will with its counterpart paint.
