New Idea For More Power
New Idea For More Power
My friend told me a way to improve power is to put a resistance on the sensor so that the ECU "thinks" it is too cold and dumps more fuel, so you will have more power. In my old BMW I used to take the sensor off when I race and that gave more fuel and more power. Can this be done in our car.
You can switch of the resistance with a switch on the dashboard, so use it only when you race.

This is what you are talking about. It won't do much on our little motors.

it is an inconsistent, un-tunable, cheap ***, ghetto-fabulous mod that will probably do nothing more than screw up your gas mileage.
The IAT sensor doesnt really adjust fuel all that much on our cars. And it already runs at a decent a/f ratio stock. If you add more fuel, you would probably be losing power. I know that when i tuned my car, before the boost kicked in, i was pulling out fuel to make more power down low.
That resistor mod is just dumb. Theoretically, yea it will add more fuel. But think to yourself.... Do i actually need more fuel? More fuel doesnt necessarily mean more power. If it did, i would have my 990cc injectors in my bone stock D17 right now. Screw the damn turbocharger and nitrous.

Honestly, if you cannot understand how the ECU works on an electrical level, then don't screw with it/it's sensors.
