ive got something for you to add to the DIY for clearing the headlights. acetone/nail polish remover will get fingerprints and the black glue off of the chrome and plastic pieces. it would have been very helpful to have that info with the diy, and i wouldnt have been worried that i ruined my headlights

ahahahaha.. hey toasty.. you get CREDIT for DIY's you don't even create!
diznavis,
yah.. nail polish does work well.. but i've actually noticed that sometimes, it can create a dull finish to some plastics. i personally wouldn't know if it does it to the plastic in the headlight lens, cuz i haven't cleared my heads yet, but yah... maybe i should shut up.. haha

hah hah i get credit for DIY's i don't create...now i am TRULY a DIY *****!
hahahah
i wouldn't recommend nail polish remover at all..especially ones with acetone...if it worked for you great..but personally acetone can eat away at plastic...and with the little amount of acetone in nail polish remover..it'll probably just dull the plastic as tsunamisplash already covered...
i personally wouldn't fool around with many of the acid based abrasive removers etc etc....especially on your headlights where the reflective properties of the chrome is important...
however whatever works works...
i've heard someone use goo gone, gasoline, and other alternatives...and i would never recommend any of that on the DIY..just cuz it worked for you..the outcomes can always vary...and the DIY's are all done at your own caution...you F*&@ up your headlights it's your fault...you should be more careful not to get black goo on it just like the DIY warns, if you do then you deal with it however you wish to deal with it, and i thinkt hat's how people have been going about it.
