Wanna hear something almost as funny as that video? Last year when i worked for a garage a kid brought his em2 in for an alignment. I noticed it had a dohc i vtec sticker on the side so i wanted to align it. only to find out when i pulled it into the shop it was a bone stock lx.

all jdm ecu's are limited at 180 km/h ... or 110 mph.

so, until I get kpro, 110 is the max I can go T_T;;

I wonder why they speed limit the fast cars. i've had my pos hitting 138 downhill didnt hit a speed limiter. after 115 car accelerates like a turd and theres only one spot where i can take it that high because the hills like a half mile down.

IMO the civic si K20A3 isnt going to give you the vtec your used to. Actually its got about as much vtec grunt as your civic. you can always start with that swap and add the head off of a rsx-s k20a2 though.

If all you are looking for is sound and hearing vtec why would you pay for a whole motor swap? Get a VAFC-II, crank it up, you will hear the crossover. You end up spending $250-$300 instead of $1000+ on a motor swap. Remember, it is cool and unique to do a motor swap, but a K20A3 is still just 160 hp stock. Granted you can do a lot with them, they are still not going to yield the gains that higher end cars such as Evo's and STI's will. Frankly, just save your money and get one of those one day, but don't get an engine swap based on sound.

I doubt those will be dropping in price anytime soon but if you can find one for cheap one day, more power to you.

It will not bog. It is going to be slow up until you hit vtec, then it crosses over, it bursts up until you hit 7 grand then you shift. It is going to be slow going up to vtec on any Honda car.

i guess slow is a relative term, because i think my EX is slow all the way through the power band...lol...one more thing, i drove an LX 4door while my EX was in the shop(got hit), and i could virtually tell no difference in acceleration....
