Rear Suspension in 2002 vs. 2001
not strut bar, sway bar
they r different
look under your hood, near the back, right on top of the axle, there should be a gold color bar running parallel to your axle
u see it?
or it might be a stabilezer bar or something like that
all the same

<< That was my question as well. Can any of the suspension improvements on the 2002 be transferred to the 2001? >>
I have a 2k2...
I believe they can. Most of the stuff for the 2k1's fit the 2k2 and sameway around. So I really don't see why not.
Far as with the sway bar, I was changing my oil a few weeks back and it brough it to my mind that I thought I saw a sway bar, but it wasn't a gold bar...I guess I'd have to run outside and check under my car
Every 2k1 civic has a 25.4 mm front sway bar and the EX model has a 12.0mm rear sway bar. For 2k2 models they added the rear bar to the LX and HX models. As for the swapping of springs and shocks, I think it's possible, they've changed the damper and spring rates, I don't think they've changed the design.
Actually for the front suspension, they replaced that crappy plastic strut bearing with a metal/ball-bearing assembly. Thus, hopefully those of us with lowered cars won't experience that popping noise when we turn our wheels.
I've ordered new strut bearings and upper mounts from the 2k2 to go on my 2k1. I have Ground Controls so I had to order the upper spring perch from GC to fit the 2k2 strut bearing.
Now, all I need to do is get the Koni's (front and rear) and the new adjustable camber plate from Ground Control and I'll have a tight ride. No more bouncy bounce.

3rdcivic - I'm going to be using the Neuspeed Sport springs, Ingalls camber kits, and the Koni's. Would I still benefit from the new strut bearings and upper mounts off the 2k2?
