instrument panel lighting color change

i would like to change the color of the lighting on the instrument panel/dash on my 04 civic sedan. The green/yellow is very boring and i am looking to change it to a purple color. I dont know where to start. Can someone help me out?

not possible since its colored on the outside. you can either unplug the bulb like I did (didn't match anything), or try to stick in a VERY bright led and see how much light makes it through. Remember that leds only emit one color, its just that the red hazard switch will filter most of it. but if the led is bright enough, it will still shine its original color. I put a red led behind my green fog light switch and it glows red.

gearbox, where do you get the power source for all those leds? you just splice a + power wire and connect all of them to it?

ya pretty much. there is the dash power wire that goes to the blue connector on the gauge cluster. i think its red/black stripe. that way turning on the dash lights will also turn on the leds.
