Rep Power: 0 '05 Civic AT shift **** removal?
Used the search function and looked through all 16 pages, didn't get a straight answer on 05 civics.
I need to know how I can remove my Automatic shift ****. Unlike the '02s, there are no screws on it, so how do I go about on removing the shift?

Rep Power: 451 i installed it by taking off that black ring around it, than lifting up the whole section around the shifter(from the cup holder down) than putting it over the shifter and than its just putting all the pieces back together, took about 15 mins total, does anyone think i should change the ****, if so to what

Rep Power: 762 A silver shift **** would match nicely
So that is just any random manual shift boot that you put on? What is it and where did you get it?

Rep Power: 451 i got the pedals from autozone, but im sure u can get them somewhere online, the shift **** i bought online at autoaccessories.com i think, just type in automatic shift ***** on google or something and u will get tons of them, they are a bit of a pain in the *** to install though cause u have to get it just right or the car wont turn off, the shift boot i just bought off ebay and its for a manual but it fits good, but when i go down to 2 on the gearbox it gets loose, but i never use it anyway so it doesnt matter

Rep Power: 762 Did you remove the silver thing that has the P R N D D3 D2 labels on it?
I still can't picture in my head how the shift boot goes on.. does it just drape around the inside of the console and then screw on at the top?
Do you remember who on ebay you bought your shift boot from? What do you think of this one, will it work okay?

Rep Power: 451 no i dont think that one would work cause it says the bottom is only 5 inches, and the shifter is bigger then that, here are the directions on how i did it--------------well the stock shift **** slides easily off once u remove the two screws holding it on, theres some grease on the rod that u should wipe off or it gets all over u hands, the shift **** is kind of tricky to put on, mine came with 3 alan screws and i had to find a place on the shift **** where they dig into it cause theres no holes for it, so i put it on and i drove them into the fatter part of the **** and it took a while to get it the right way cause if u put it too far down the car wont turn off cause it thinks ur holding down the shift button and if u put it too far up it slips off and doesnt hit the shift rod so its a pain in the ***, the shift boot was pretty easy to put on, firts u have to remove the gearbox cover and its attached all the up to the cigarette lighter, there two panels on the the side of the gearbox and u pop them out and its two clips on each side than u just pull it towards you and the part by the cig lighter comes out, then u remove the part around the shifter but first u have to remove the black ring around it which is easy, then when i put the boot on the first time the panel didnt snap in so i cut a little piece out on the shift boot where the clips would snap in so it stays in place, the black plastic ring doesnt go on all the way cause its too skinny but u can barely tell-------this is the site where i bought mine, they have a million of them, and the one i bought says honda civic, still manual but up to year 02, but it still fits my 04 auto----- http://stores.ebay.com/Tellyztunerz-...erLinksQQtZkm?
