How to split the tranny case?

How to split the tranny case?
Ok so all of my bolts are off but I only get the case about 3/4 of an inch apart. Do I have to beat on the spline shaft to get this thing apart? Has anyone done this?

Just drop it from about 15 feet onto a concrete surface, it should just fall apart.

How do you put a tranny back together that has been dropped from approx. 15ft?

lol I already split it. I had a spare LX tranny that I wanted to use the syncros and bearings from. I have an 03 EX so I needed to keep my gears but the part numbers on everything else is the same 2001 through 2005.
