scared to take off the front bumper? thats hella easy. what you should be afraid of is baking your headlights too long and having them melt in the oven, causing your house to catch on fire. ahaha

seriously, if you're afraid to do it have someone help you with it who has done it before.

you can probably blow dry them but i've only baked them.
and the front bumper is easy to take off. only four screws and the rest are clips. put something under the bumper incase you drop it while removing it. i usually use a piece of cardboard and towel. the hardest part is putting it back on. you just have to make sure everything lines up correctly

taking off the bumper is the easiest thing ever. It doesnt take but 10 minutes to do. And if your so scared to do it, then dont even bother doing it. I am pretty sure someone has messed something up, but you just need to be careful and pay attention to what your doing.

Have a friend help you take off the bumper just to be safe. I didn't bake my headlights, just pryed and cut with a razor. Seal it up with some silicon. If you touch the chrome or get the black sealant on it, just use some rubbing alcohol and q-tips to clean it. I did mine a week after I got my car and I'm still loving it.

Make sure that if you do take them apart that you use a good clear silicone sealant (sp) or else you'll end up with major leaks and damage your lighting... That and dropping the bumper are really the only things that you can screw up.

the bumper is really really easy to take off...it takes some muscle at first when its the first time but its pretty easy...after u unbolt the bumper/grill and undo all the clips its easy to get it off..u just need to stick u hand behind it from one side and pull...these headlight metal bracket is holding the bumper so pull forward ...the bumper mite bend a little while pulling but it'll snap back to shape without any problems...as for clearing...dont clear them black out the housing...take the headlights apart with a heat gun or blow dryer if ur afraid to stick it in the oven...(i figured it out the hard way)...heat the oven to 300 degrees than turn it off once it hits that..than stick the headlight in there for 5 mins keeping an eye on it...it'll get pretty hot so once time is up get some oven mits or something and a flat head screwdriver and pry it open...took me a while my first try but after i did one the other was super easy... than take the housing out of the lense by unscrewing 1 screw than snap the amber peice out than paint the housing however u want...u can even body match if u can get the paint and clearcoat...mine came out pretty nice...check out my civic

to find a member, just go to the top to quick links and down the bottom to members list and find the member from there.

I have never done the clearing of the headlights, but I am pretty sure it is the same as the 01-03's.

hey there, i know that you have lots of questions regarding modding of your 05 but for pete's sake please search. i have seen many many many threads that you've created, all of which have been answered numerous times.

well to answer THIS question, you will have to open up the housing pop out the amber reflector, spray that chrome, put it back and reseal the headlight. then you would need to change your turn signal to some aftermarket blueish white bulb.

Yeah what he said.. You have to pop that amber piece and paint it. Ever thought about blacking the headlights out instead? What color is your car?

its no prob... just search nexttime, makes a whole lot of us happy. anyways, i dont think you would need a DIY to paint your amber piece, its just a simple process.
-remove amber piece.
-clean it.
-spray with primer (grey will work best since its closer to silver)
-let dry.
-wet sand
-spray with chrome (light coats)
-let dry
-put back.

the hardest part for me when i was blackening my headlights was putting it back the housing to the clear plastic. i scratched the black housing couple times so i had to take it out again and spray it again. and don't forget to caulk them real good. i have to redo mine cause one of them is collecting moisture inside it.

take your time and only do one thin coat per hour. If it doesnt look right dont try to fix it with one heavy coat. trust me a small hair in the paint+trying to fix it comes out lookin bad but if you just let the lil hair stay no one will notice.
