believe it or not when I change my oil, there are small metal particles, very fine like sand, on the magnet. I guess better there than floating around in the engine, makes me wonder where they came from.. I guess I'll find out some day when I tear my motor down for new rods, pistons, and cam...
My SL65 rim, because a rim is all I can afford

Have you cut your filter open yet to see if there is any metal inside there?

Hummm... I guess I just didn't realize how much metal must be down there.... scary.
Yeah, I try to cut open an oil filter every 50k or so to check up, but I haven't had a car hit 50k in a long time.
