Fuel Delivery Problems

Well im having some fuel issues. My car is not getitng fuel to the injectors. It will start run for about 15 seconds then rough idol real hard and low at like 400rpm and die. Then other times it will start up just fine. and then other times it will not start at all. I have removed my fuel pump and tested it and it works fine. I have checked the 2 relays under the dash behind the glove box and they both work. I have only threw an actual code once and it was P065 i think im not excatly sure if thats the numebr because it was like 3 days ago when i checked it and frogot to write it down. but afer clearing my ecu the code goes away but the problem consists. I know that it is not a grounding out problem becasue i checked for that it is a problem with the positive end of the system. and i am getitng fuel pressure because when i pulled my fuel pump when it wouldn't start it shot out a decent amount of fuel from the line. if i didn't have any pressue this would not have happened. So, can anybody please help?

ok, I have gone through something close to that, but not like yours. Anyway, if it isnt getting fuel to the injectors, then it wouldnt run. So if it is running some times, then dies, and others it runs fine, then fuel is getting to the injectors. To me it sounds like your problem lies in the pump. First thing you need to do is check how much pressure you have. Just because your pump pumps out fuel, doesnt mean it has pressure. I found this out too when I had my fuel pump replaced about a week ago. I had fuel all the way to the fuel rail, but there was no pressure. It would produce volume, but no pressure. When testing a fuel pump, always test pressure and volume. If you have volume, but no pressure, the problem is the fuel pump. If you have pressure, but no volume, then you have a restriction somewhere. Usually in the fuel filter.

But see how much pressure you have when you first turn the key to the on position. Should have around 40-47 PSI. If you have anything less, then check or replace the fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter and retest. If you have no pressure, most likely the pump has failed.

What you can also do, disconnect the line at the rail and turn the car to the on position, if fuel comes out there, then you are getting fuel to the rail. Also hook up a gauge set and run the car and watch the pressure. If it dies out and the car dies, I would suspect the fuel pump.

As for the code, I am not sure, I would need all 4 numbers.

since honda uses quick disconnect fittings on the lines, not shrader valves, you need to find a gauge adapter set specifically for hondas to tee into the lines at the rail to check the pressure.
