Help......pcv Valve - Check Engine Light

I Have A 2001 Honda Civic Lx, 1.7 Sedan

Should The Check Engine Light Come On Due To A Bad Pcv Valve.

If It Does Not, Could A Scan Diagnose A Bad Valve.

Thanks For Any Response

I don't think our cars use em anymore. The pcv system is just that hose connecting the crankcase to the intake.

have you done a scan yet?

any auto parts chain should be able to hook you up for free and it will tell you exactly what sensor is causing the CEL

Our cars do use PCV valves. There are 2 OBD 2 codes associated with the PCV system too. Here:

number 4 in the picture is the PCV valve. Every car uses sometime of PCV system.

In a since I agree with that. I work for one and have seen some pretty fuked up ****. Anyway, I dont know why the dealer says our cars dont use them. Is it just me or does honda seem to have technicians and advisors who have no idea what they are doing or saying? When I was at honda 3 weeks ago for warranty work, my advisor told me my civic doesnt have lower control arms. WTF!!!

The fuel filter isn't really serviceable, unless you want to get inside the tank to do it. The maintenance schedule describes it as a "lifetime" item.

actually are filter is alot different then others. Most are inline with the system and require you to disconnect 2 lines from the filter and remove it. Takes usually 15 minutes to do.

Ours is inside the fuel tank attatched to the fuel pump. you have to disassemble it from the pump and replace. Plus the electrical connection for the pump is on the filter. Plus it looks way different.
