Cheap mods that wont void warranty?
Cheap mods that wont void warranty?
I recently bought an '04 ex 4dr, and I am looking for a few options to add more power to my car and not void my warranty. At the moment, I have tein springs, wheels, and a short ram intake. Im about to buy an exhaust, but thats about all i have in mind until my warranty is up and i can get a k20 and turbo it. If there is any small things I can change or replace to add some more power, I am open for suggestions.
Your suspension warranty is probably gone already with the Teins.
But as said above
Remember the triangle - Fast, Cheap, and Good. Pick two.

In the eyes of honda, no matter what you do, anything you do will void you warrently. Lets face it the dealer doesnt want to have to fix part in a car that "werent made for racing entended use." They know they made some cheep stuff, just unless its worth it to them they aren't going to recall it to fix it. So Bassically anything you do, and for some reason your car gets messed up, yeah its your fault. Your paying for it. *but there are some handy tools to look at in the Tech forum* http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...light=Warrenty

When you spend serious money, its on stuff that will void my warranty. Im looking for lil things like on my last car when a direct fit throttle body from another car added about 8 hp. I need to know things like this.

Nobody offers a warranty for suspension. We have 5 cars at my house, and even the 03 tiburon with the best warranty in the world wont cover anything suspension wise.

Let me clear this up, are you recommending saying F*** the warranty since they wont wanna fix anything either way, or ride out the warranty then swap?

Well if your going to swap anyways for sure.. and i mean FOR SURE! Dont just sit there and be a poser if your not going to ever be able to do it. Ride that warrenty out as much as you can, cause when something breaks and you got to pay for it, it will take that much more money you got to save up to buy the swap. Trust me, been there done that. Shelling out 1500 for a new tranny cause i had h/i/ and a muffler (not an exsaust) really sucks. That 1500 was going towards my k20, but not any more. Then ohh 10000 miles later hydrolocking the enigne, ehh. screw it k20 swap time. lol
Touch it... He won't bite, He'll just come at you pretty quick.

Yeah like K20TxEm2 said, if you're REALLY going to swap, don't even do any other "performance mods" to your car. Sell the intake, or whatever you have on your car right now and save that money for a swap.
I don't understand these people: "I'm gonna do a K20 swap when I save up enough money, but I was just wondering if anyone could tell me which $700 set of pipes will get me about 2 more HP on my D17." Swap it or don't swap it, but whatever path you take, you should concentrate all your resources and energy on that path. Why even worry about a warranty if you're going to swap to an engine with no warranty anyway. You can always throw that D17 back in when you blow up your K20. D17's are so cheap that I wouldn't give a **** about a warranty. UNLESS I was broke. Then I certainly wouldn't be thinking that I was going to come up with $10,000 for a turbo K20 swap.

really the install isnt all that hard but i dont have all the tools to do it so i paid the extra 700 bucks for labor. Things like charging the ac, tools to combined the half shafts, and i really didnt have anything to cut the hood with.
As for parts : I got gsr half shafts and cominded them with my stock civics(but you can use them straight off and Si.), and Si raidiator, Hasports mounts, custom wire harnes, the Si condinsor fan, and a couple other little odds and in's as where can you find a k20? just got to look around.

are just a couple sites you could try. But there are penty more.
