Problematic intake air temp sensors?

I'm having an intermittent CEL with a high signal reading from my intake air temp sensor. Just wondering if anyone has had problems, and is this at all common for these to fail. It's a 01 Coupe VTEC.

just swap it out. I've heard of them being damaged before, or if its not in all the way with the rubber around it.

like gearbox said. most likely it is the sensor itself. If you want to check, see if you have a 5 volt reference signal running to the sensor. If you do, the sensor is the problem, if you dont, you have a open in the wiring between the PCM and sensor, a bad ground, or problems with the PCM.
