Spinning Tires?
Hey everyone, I have a question about spinning the tires from a stop. I was told that it was bad for the engine and transmission if you have one foot on the brake, rev the engine to high rpms, and then release the brake. I know if you do that, you can spin the tires a little. So is this really bad for the engine and transmission? I know that spinning your tires after putting your car in nuetral and reving the engine and putting your car in drive after reving it is very bad for the transmission, so I don't do that. Thanks!

Ahh you have an auto.. yes it's bad for the transimission mostly.. Because your causing your transmission to slip whicle your foots on the break.. Mostly though..it's just bad for the breaks lol..
i dont think it is bad for the transmission, i just think its bad on the axels and brakes cause its putting a lot of pressure on them. and as for slipping the transmission, i dont think that is necessarily true. it just puts pressure on the brakes and axels.
Yeah, auto sucks huh? I got my car as a gift from my parents and they thought they were spoiling me by getting auto when i asked for manual specifically. im so bitter.
I found that out the hard way, i just can't handle being so slow off the line (brake replacement at 15,000 miles) hella screaching.

I think you are spoiled if you perents brough the car for you no matter if it's auto or manual, it was free. lol
It bad for the tires, no doubt, but them firestones anyway, you know?
But mainly, it's bad for the differential.
Though I've noticed since after removing my resonator (prepping for new intake), I'm able to peel out quite a bit, though, I'm in control of how much peeling. I guess I'm getting more torque due to the removal of the resonator.
