problem with interior neon
i want to wire some blue neon tubes up in side my car so i got two 10" tubes and i went and bought a toggle switch at radio shack...now just to be on the safe side i decided to test it all out on a little 12v power supply i have...and of course with my luck it isn't working! ...first of all i don't know if i have the right kind of switch, plus it has 6 terminals on it! shouldn't i only need two? postive into switch and positve out? ...if anyone has a picture on model number for a switch that works that would be cool...plus i think i killed one of my tubes
it doesn't even seem to work when i hook it straight up with out the switch

Ok...First off...
When you buy the Tube neons, did the come with 12v plug-in type things? Im guessnig you jsut cut them off and have two wires cmoing from the neon...BADBAD BAD!!! There is a transformer inside of that little plug in thing...AND YOU NEED IT!! IN order for the neon to work! You need to wire the two wires from the tube to the transformer, then the red wire from the transformer to the 12v wire in your car, and the black to a ground. If you ahve any more questions let me know!! If this doesnt solve yoru problem, then you may have wired the switch wrong, or a bunch of different reasnos...Lemme know if you need any help i have done a LOT of things when it comes to wiring neons in cars etc etc...so maybe i can help. dont hesitate to ask im glad to help

Street Glow makes tube neons in the plugin lighter type end. But! you can cut that off and purchase the square box transformer Street Glow offers and connect a little plug in to the transformer. It's a neat little gadget.

you need three wires, pos, neg, and ground, i put 2 blue neon tubes on my a pillars. also you need a three pronged switch from radio shack. i put my switch next to the cigarette lighter. there is a blank space there you can pop out with a flatblade screwdriver. you will have to drill or dremel tool out a rectangle to fit the switch in there good but it looks good.

that spot is for the fog light switch, they changed that area for 2002, there are now 2 spots and no pocket. i wouldnt try to pop just the little hole plug out with a screw driver, youll more than likely scratch the area around it all up. you can pop the whole dash piece out and then its really easy to get the hole plug out.
