check engine light question
alright...i woke up this morning, started the car, it started to make a slight rumble like it was going to idle out, than the check engine light started to blink about 3x and than it jsut stayed on.
now,...i took off the air box off about a year ago. so i can hear the v-tec more with no intake kit installed or anything. could this be a rpoblem with air flow or somehting more serious. if theres any experts with this situation, i'd really appreciate some input,...thanx

so your saying you have no air filter at all on?
if so, i would either put the stock air box back on, or buy an intake system for your car because you need some sort of filter to keep the dirt out of you engine

Check engine or Main't Req'd light? i dunno about the check engine..but if its main't req'd...do this...
1. hold the button that resets the trip while the car is off
2. turn key to II position (2 clicks, but don't turn the car on) while holding button
3. keep holding the button for 10 seconds
4. after 10 seconds, turn on the car while button is still being pushed
5. wah lah - no more light
that should do the trick. you're welcome

Taking the resonator off shouldn't do anything to the motor. I't merely to keep things quieter and get a little bit cooler air to the intake. And if it's not the "Maintenance Required" light then that process won't do anything. You should take it to AutoZone or PepBoys cause they'll check the codes for free.

but are you sure it is your check engine light? Having the light blink 3 times and then stay on sounds like the maintenence required light? Is the light a picture of a engine or does it say maintenence required?
