dropping to D2 from D in auto

im trying to create a video clip of my exhaust for the sticky here of my apexi. i am an automatic but i have never worked with the d2 and d3 on automatic tranny cars. i am trying to do a drive by clip of the car so the exhaust can sound start from 3k rpm to 5k rpm.

what i can think of is start off in D at 10mph and put it in D2 OR start from d2 and work my way from there?

ill be doing this on flat land road if it matters.

Civic_RedLine will become famous soon enough
gears are way longer so you would have to be at higher speed.

Just so you know, D uses all gears; D3 only uses 1, 2, 3; and D2 only uses second gear--meaning there isn't a 1 even from a stop.

yeah, that's why the "D2" you're referring to is just "2" instead of "D2".

yep. but make sure when going from D3 or D into 2 that you give it some gas, or else the change is gonnabe really abrupt and harmful to the tranny. itll be reminiscent of having a clutch in all the way while the revs were at 3000, then just dumping the clutch back in. its rough.

ok isnt this said: i can get it so that the car shifts from D3 to 2 (by throwing the shifter into 2) without it being rough, like its a smooth downshift. im so crazy...
