Exhaust Installation
I just wanted to see if anyone else has ran into this problem. I was attemting to install my new exhaust. I started out by trying to take the bolts that connect the piping to the cat, but couldn't get them off by hand. So I took them over to a friends house to use his air tools and try to cut them off. We cut off the nut - still couldn't get the bolt out. Then we decided to cut off the head of the bolt - still wouldn't come out. Then we drilled a hole into the bolt and tried to use a screw extractor to get it out - nothing. I figured that it has gotten so hot that the steel has hardened inside there and become stuck. We're going to drill it out later on today, but I was just curious if anyone else has ran into this sort of thing on their civic.

yeah they were pretty tight, but i was able to get them off with air tools. when i ran into this problem on my brake rotors, i had to drill the screw out completely. get get a metal drilling drill bit that is a little bit smaller than the bolt and drill stright into the top of the bolt. it will eventually become weak enough to break and pull out.

Everyone runs into different problems while modding their cars. Like my most recent problem, I killed the tread on the tie-rod end of my passanger side. Its kind of held on by half thread now, and a half split nut (Tried to break it off) It'll work till I can get 60 bucks for a new tie-rod end and a nut.
