Pissed of of rattle: DIY deadening part 2!

I can't stand the rattling anymore, even the dynamat extrem can't help this time, so here we go:

1. Get some carpet paddings; some memeber refers as "jute".
2. Get some pink insulation.
3. Glue some pink insulation on the door cover with spray adhesive.
4. Cut the "jute" using the door cover as reference.
5. Use pink isulation to cover all the metal rods, they are the bitch that is responsible for most of the rattles.
6. Apply "jute" over the dynamat.
7. Now we have multi-layer sound deadener on the door.

Conclusion: Be aware, after the extrem sound deadening, your stereo system will suddenly be much louder.

ok so i have ALOT of rattle coming from my rear deck and a little rattle coming from my front doors(reason why is cuz my front speakers dont fit in my doors weel so the door panel sticks out a bit) and was wondering would fatmat help? or would i have to go to doing something like this? cuz i dont have alot of power going through the subs(200 watts each on my 2 12s) so you think fatmat would just be enough like 2 layers of it?

Did you try e-dead? I heard two coats over dynamat it would remove all the rattles.

Hi,

Unfortunately, I personally believe no matter how many layer of dynamat, fatmat or e-dead you apply on the door, rattle will always be there.

They would help, but never ever eliminate sound vibration/sound energy to 0, deandeners are not black holes .

For instance, try to apply 3 layer of anything on the door, try to listen to huge base music while putting your hands on the door. Your hand will still feel vibrations.

The rattle source on the door panels are those metal rods, they are really biXch! Therefore you have to use some soft foams or pink isolation to wrap them, so that when they shake they will touch something but not making any noise.

Of course, the reason why I apply "jute" on dynamat extrem is that I want to stop the resonance. The sounds would reflect and absorbed differently on 2 different material.

It is not too useful to apply multi-layer of the samething, because what you get will be a uniform resonance. Also, multi-layer of fatmat/dynamat will colst you a lot!
