Ah, I see... I don't know. I think that thread might have not bean archived. If that option isn't selected then the thread gets archived after a certain amount of time. Maybe one of the archives that contained this thread is gone? Anyway, I'll let Derek know. What you need is dental floss and a hair dryer. Use a hair dryer to heat up those emblems and then get under them with some dental floss. Then just pull off like they were stickers. That's what they are, just stickers. Then just use some goo-b-gone, or goof-off, or any other cleaner to get rid of the glue (if any was left).

wait till it drys,
then go back it in to ur garage and take ur blow drier
and blow the ex and civic emblems for like 15-20 min
then take a strip and just slowly take it off
and use mothers way scratch removal to take off the glue or sticky stuck
and just shine away with the mothers way removal stuff

>> goof off doesn't hurt the paint??
I think that's what I used. I used some to take off the gooey stuff and then I just washed that area. I didn't see it hurt anything, so I assume that everything is ok. If you can really heat it up and slowly peel it like Booohahaha said, then I'de do that instead.

I forgot which one was more difficult to take off... I'm pretty sure it was the EX on my car. In fact, I didn't do the EX, my friend did. She used a heat gun on it and then peels it off. The adhesive on there was HARD to get off. It took a lot of scraping, but yeah, it was the EX. I did the Civic one by myself and it was just too easy. I used about 2-3 strings of floss cuz they do eventually break, and I thought that was fine... I know it's too weak to actually damage the exterior. The adhesive wasn't hard at all to take off. I dunno. That's my experience. (In the end, I have a broken EX emblem, and a full Civic emblem that's been played around with by my lil' sister. I might need to replace it and that costs $20 from the dealer.)
I used kite string. I took off the EX and the Civic, and ther was this stupid dealer embem. When I got the dealer emblem off, the goo was just like chewing gum. I used a plastic scraper then alcohol. Of course like others said, you need to wash those areas right away and apply some was. I think the 2001 Civic rear end looks really neat when shaved, it's just so slick.
I think that residue is what is left of double sided tape. It really didn't take much heat to loosen it up on my ride.
