Possible to paint splash guards?
I'm tired of the black splashguards, was wondering how to go about painting them body colored, (like the altimas) Since i've never painted anything before, how would i go about doing it, where could i get matching body colored paint?. Is it possible to paint them good without it cracking since they seem to be able to bend alot?
Thx for your help.

you will be best off painting them with like the duplicolor spray paint color matched to hondas paint code. you can get this at any auto parts store. As for painting...
get a tarp or something and make tons of room under it to fit you and all the stuff you need to paint. Mist water into the air and let it settle overnight (to get all the dust out of the air). The next day go in and spray really thin coats on the guards. Do at least 4-6 layers on them, but make the layers thin. Spray side to side in a constant sweeping motion, and start the spray flowing inches over from the guards so the initial clumps of spray are not put onto the guards. Do the same thing with clear coat but use many more layers and thicker since these will get hit by rocks!
Spray it like this:

always spray over the edges by a few inches. you will get a much more even coat that way
Also sand the guards down a little before spraying them. Even a fine sandpaper will do, just get the surface a little less smooth and glossy and the paint will stick best

You could also take them to any paint shop and have them do it they will most likely scuff them(leaves the texture in if they are textured) and use elasto in the clear so they have room to flex shouldnt cost that much.

first take them off.
then, sand them with something like 200 grit sandpaper
then use a primer
then use the color of choice, about 2-3 coats
and you prolly need some type of protectant on there so it will not chip off
let dry and then replace on car...or you could just lose them as well
