She's Dead!!!

ok so I got my clutch changed this past week and I put everything back together last night, i.e. wire's bolts and what not, but my car won't start... could it be possible that the battery drained it's power? cause I have the jack connected to the chassis connecting to the ground(pavement?)... but I disconneted the negative before I worked on it, and it's been down for about 5days now, I have the optima yellow D31A battery and that battery is gi-mongos but it's located in the trunk, it's been on my trunk for 2 months now I never had problems before after I installed the bigger gauge wire, and it started before I installed the new clutch. My battery volt meter's saying 11.2V is that too low since my battery's located farther from the starter?

I jump start/charge it for about 20mins last night, but after that all I hear when i start it is a click... not even a chug or anything... I'll charge it again tonight and see how it goes, I bought me a 300AMP portable jump start kit and that would help cranking it up. I just wanted to make sure what else I need to do before I get home from work, so any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks you guys!

If its clicking, that means theres enough power to run the starter solenoid... but not enough to turn the starter. Try charging it again.. if it still doesnt work, then its time for a new battery. BTW: #1 rule about auto repair... Replace the cheepest part 1st. So do your self a favor and check the fuses!!!

I've been through 2 swaps. One engine and one tranny. Both times that problems occured something on the wiring harness was left unplugged. I'd triple check everything.

Also when you got the car jump started did you notice a check engine light?

yes, the check engine goes off, then in about 20seconds it goes off... I believe that's normal coz it was like that before...

now the only thing I unplugged is:

--negative battery
--speed sensor? the one towards the back on the bell housing
--and the one that's on top of the bell housing, on top of the tranny...

the click i'm hearing is just one click... but yeah, i'm like 99.99% sure that it's just my battery... thanks for the help guys, I will recharge my battery later on... or exchange the battery, coz I just purchased this a couple months ago

Optimas take a while to fully charge. Give it a bit longer. Then double check the cables from it to the engine.

well I found out last night that it's my starter's fvck coz we push started it and it ran fine... I just wonder how in the hell did I fvck up my starter when I didn't do anything to it but remove two bolts, and one long skinny bolt from it...

here's more, after we push started the car, the clutch shifted great when I drove it a couple of blocks last night. But this morning there's seems to be oil coming out from the clutch, coz I saw a puddle of oil under where the flywheel is located I fear that the transaxle seal popped! or I put to much transmission oil in it... I will find out tonight... yup.. I learned my lesson the hard way again

there is actually a few things that might have gone wrong with the install that could cause the starter and tranny to leak... imma talk to our tech guy today that was supposed to do the install.. he works at honda and acura so he knows all this kind of stuff

the same amount that it came out... the thing is I attempted to change the clutch the first time, and drained the old transmission oil, but didn't have enough tools to do it... but recently purchased $500 worth of tools and air tools and finally decided to install the clutch myself... I put new oil in it, and by measuring the oil is level with the top transmission bolt... I saved the new oil knowing that the oil wasn't used at all, so I poured it back in the tranny and added about .15qt more. The oil is clean and I know I'm gonna flush it again anyway after 10-20 mile drive coz I flush my tranny fluid twice every year, like a 60mile maintenance... but you think I put too much oil in it?

I over filled mine up at first when I swapped my new auto trans in and it still didn't leak. I just used a hose to syphon the excess from the top where the dip stick is. Only one way to tell if there is too much fluid. Run car and check the dipstick when the fluid is warm.

I'm guessing if it's leaking from the casing it's a seal. Not sure how many a manual has but I believe there were 3-4 for mine that I replaced.
